Tomato Soup with Garlic Bread

    TOMATO SOUP WITH GARLIC BREAD
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20-30 minutes
Serves: 3       Course: starter

INGREDIENTS
Oil                                           2 Tbsp
Tomato (roughly chopped)  6-8 no's
Red chilli powder                  tsp
Turmeric powder                  ¼ tsp
Ginger                                     2 inch
Garlic cloves                          2 no's
Black pepper corn's              8-10 no's
Cardamon seed's                  ½
Salt                                         to taste
Water                                     as required
Oil                                           1 Tbsp
Butter                                     1 Tbsp
Onion (Chopped)                  1 medium
Sugar                                      2 Tbsp

For Croutons
Bread slice                           5 no's
Butter                                    2 Tbsp
Oil                                          2 Tbsp

For Garlic Bread
Bread slice                         as required
Butter                                   2 Tbsp
Garlic cloves                       3 no's

METHOD
In a pressure cooker add oil and heat in medium flame. When the oil is hot add chopped tomatoes and saute for a minute. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger, garlic cloves, black pepper corn's, cardamon seed's, salt and adjust the water mix well close the lid and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
In another sauce pot heat oil and butter in low flame add chopped onion and saute till translucent, when the onion is translucent add the pressure cooked tomato mixture and cook till raw smell goes, may take 8-10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down and transfer the mixture to a blender and blend into fine smooth purée. Using a strainer strain the tomato purée and cook it for 10 minutes in low flame. Finally add 2 Tbsp of sugar and saute well turn off the heat.

For Croutons
Remove the side's of the bread and cut into equal square's. In a pan add butter & oil once hot add the bread and fry until golden brown both sides.

For Garlic Bread
Cut the bread slices into 2 half's. In a cup add 2 Tbsp of soft butter and finely chopped garlic cloves, mix it well and spread it one side of the bread. In a pan medium flame add the bread butter side down and fry till golden brown each side.
